A NEW VISION FOR CANTERBURY: A RESIDENTS’ PLAN FOR OUR CITY 7.30 on Tuesday 12 March at St Peter’s Methodists’ Church Hall

How would you like Canterbury to develop over the next few years?  What are your hopes and fears for the city?  Over the past year the Canterbury Society has been working with other residents’ groups to develop a Vision for the future of our city which would reflect the opinions and concerns of local people.

The aims of the Vision are to celebrate what is good about the city but also to highlight the many issues and challenges that need addressing if the city is to maintain the quality of life of local residents.  Topics covered include:  housing and homelessness, business and the local economy, heritage, open spaces and the environment, antisocial behaviour and crime, traffic and transport, sustainability and governance.  We hope the Vision will help to inform those who have to make decisions about the future of our city.

The aim of this event is to launch the Vision and to discuss its recommendations.  A team of authors has been responsible for preparing the chapters and all the authors will be there to present their ideas and hear your responses.  So do come along, listen to the proposals for the future of our city and give us your feedback.
