Do you like the new Canterbury Storygardens? Do you think better when out walking? Or is your favourite place to take visitors the Franciscan Gardens?

You are invited to listen to a lecture about New Animism and Magical Connections with Nature and join a workshop on Wednesday 15 July, from 10am to 12pm, at Canterbury Christ Church University, exploring nature within World Heritage Sites. The World Heritage Site Co-ordinator from Durham will also join us to share the details of some projects.

The workshop is led by Dr Jane Lovell. as part of a wider research project taking place across several World Heritage Sites, including Durham and Orkney. The findings will contribute to a UNESCO toolkit on storytelling in World Heritage Sites, exploring the positive ways people connect and commune with nature.

This could include:
– favourite walking routes
– Local folk traditions, legends and stories
– parks, gardens or trees
– wildlife, flora or seasonal changes
– places connected to family memories or personal experience

How do these places shape your relationship with Canterbury?
What changes have you noticed over time?
What role does nature play in your daily life and wellbeing?

Places are limited.

If you would like to take part, please contact Jane Lovell at Jane.Lovell@canterbury.ac.uk and briefly outline the type of story or experience you would like to share.
