Do you have personal stories about your relationship with nature in Canterbury?

You are invited to apply to join a workshop on 19 June, from 10am to 12pm, at Canterbury Christ Church University, exploring natural voices within World Heritage Sites.

The workshop is led by Dr Jane Lovell. as part of a wider research project taking place across several World Heritage Sites, including Durham and Orkney.

The findings will contribute to a UNESCO toolkit on storytelling, exploring the positive ways people connect and commune with nature

Jane is looking for personal stories and reflections connected to Canterbury’s natural environment. This could include:

  • favourite walking routes
  • local folk traditions, legends and stories
  • parks, gardens or trees
  • wildlife, flora or seasonal changes
  • places connected to family memories or personal experience

How do these places shape your relationship with Canterbury?
What changes have you noticed over time?
What role does nature play in your daily life and wellbeing?

Places are limited.

If you would like to take part, please contact Jane Lovell at Jane.Lovell@canterbury.ac.uk and briefly outline the type of story or experience you would like to share.
